This exquisite hand-colored copperplate engraving depicts the vibrant and majestic Green Peafowl, Pavo muticus, also known as the Spike-crested Peacock or Pavo spicifer. The illustration was meticulously drawn and engraved by the renowned naturalist artist, Richard Polydore Nodder, and published as part of George Shaw and Frederick Nodder's The Naturalist's Miscellany in London, 1804.
