Jigsaw Puzzle : Light coming through redwood trees
Jigsaw Puzzles from Science Photo Library
Light coming through redwood trees
Redwoods. Light slanting between the towering trunks of Coast Redwood trees Sequoia sempervirens. This species of evergreen conifer is the worlds tallest species of tree (up to 100 metres/325 feet high). Some individuals may live to an age of 2, 500 years. Sequoia sempervirens is not however, the largest, most massive of all living species. This attribute belongs to the Giant Redwood: a shorter species, but with a girth of up to 25 metres and age of 3000-4000 years. Sequoia species are likely to topple over before dying from old age. Photographed on the California coast, USA

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the mesmerizing beauty of nature as sunlight filters through the majestic redwood trees. Standing tall and proud, these Coast Redwoods, scientifically known as Sequoia sempervirens, create a breathtaking sight with their towering trunks and lush green foliage. As the world's tallest species of tree, reaching heights of up to 100 meters or 325 feet, they command attention and inspire awe. These remarkable evergreen conifers have an astonishing lifespan that can span over two millennia. Some individuals have been known to live for an incredible 2,500 years. However, it is important to note that while Sequoia sempervirens holds the title for height, it is not the largest in terms of mass. That distinction belongs to its cousin - the Giant Redwood - which may be shorter but boasts a massive girth of up to 25 meters and can live between 3,000-4,000 years. Photographed along California's picturesque coast in the USA by Science Photo Library, this image captures a serene moment where light gracefully slants between these ancient giants. It serves as a reminder of both their grandeur and fragility; despite their longevity, Sequoias are prone to toppling over before succumbing to old age. Immerse yourself in this enchanting scene filled with natural wonders – from botany enthusiasts fascinated by angiosperms (flowering plants) like sequoias to those seeking solace amidst nature's tranquility –
