Zoe Cook (left) and Sarah Bull were star performers when six pupils of the Pam Strickland and Adele Taylor school of dancing went on a weeks holiday to Kent to brush up on their ballet, tap, modern and mime skills. The girls - Sarah, 12, of LIndley, Zoe, 12 and Clair Cooper, 12, both of Waterloo, Susan Ellis, 13, of Oakes, Paula Shaw, 13, of Newsome and Alison Greenleaf, 13, of Holywell Green - joined fellow pupils from both home and abroad for the course at Cobham Hall in Kent. Zoe was awarded first prize in her class and Sarah came third. At the end of the week the pupils put on a performance for parents and friends. 1st September 1987

The talented duo, along with four other pupils from the renowned Pam Strickland and Adele Taylor school of dancing, embarked on an enriching journey to refine their skills in ballet, tap, modern dance, and mime. Sarah, aged 12 from LIndley, Zoe also 12 years old from Waterloo, were joined by Clair Cooper (12) from Waterloo as well as Susan Ellis (13) from Oakes, Paula Shaw (13) from Newsome and Alison Greenleaf (13) hailing all the way from Holywell Green. Under the guidance of esteemed instructors at Cobham Hall in Kent, these young dancers not only honed their techniques but also formed lasting friendships with fellow students both local and international.
