Created during Dynasty XXII, which spanned from approximately 945 to 715 BC, this exquisite silver artifact stands at a height of 23.5 cm and is currently held in a private collection. The Silver Sistrum takes the form of the janiform head of Hathor, the goddess associated with music, love, beauty, and joy. Adorned with a wig and broad collar, Hathor's face displays finely contoured eyebrows and cosmetic lines. The sistrum features cow ears on each side of her head and incised uraeus symbols on either side of her wig – one wearing the crown of Upper Egypt while the other wears that of Lower Egypt.
