Jose Maria Valles and Ribot, (Barcelona, ??1849 - Vallvidrera, 1911), Republican politician from Catalonia, a member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Catalonia. From his youth he was in the Democratic Federal Republican Party and in 1873 was elected Member of the Constituent Courts of the First Spanish Republic, was also the first president of the Federalist Center Barcelona, provincial deputy and co-editor of the Projecte constitucio catala per a l estat (Draft constitution for the Catalan State) (1883), and represented several districts in the Catalan Cortes along successive legislatures
