This photograph, taken in 1884, captures Thomas Collins MP, a prominent City of London financier and Conservative Party politician, in an unguarded moment of vanity. The image, published in Vanity Fair magazine, was captured by renowned British photographer Henry Fawcett. Collins, later created Baron Addington in 1885, is seen here with a thoughtful expression, his eyes fixed on the mirror as he adjusts his cravat.
