Winkle Brown, a decorated naval aviator and test pilot, was the President of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) from 1982 to 1983. He is best known for setting a world record for the number of different types of aircraft flown, with a total of 487 types. In this image, Winkle Brown, dressed in his RAeS President uniform, is seen engaging in a lively conversation with Henry Kremer. Kremer, a pioneer in the field of supersonic wind tunnels and aerodynamic research, was instrumental in developing the revolutionary Concorde supersonic passenger jet.
