Making use of mother. Baby Flying Opossum make their first appearance at London Zoo

Making use of mother.
Baby Flying Opossum make their first appearance at London Zoo.
Two tiny light grey furry bundles with large dark eyes set in a small pointed face have just made their appearance at the rodent house of London Zoo.
They are Flying Opossum, which when fully grown will be about three quarters the size of the common grey squirrel. Born only a few weeks ago, the babies have just shown themselves in public. The flying opossum, which carries its young in a pouch like a kangaroo can glide from tree to tree by using membrane between their hind and fore limbs.
Photo shows, the baby flying opossum riding on the back of their mother. Opossum will continue to carry her young in this fashion.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a heartwarming moment at the London Zoo in 1936. Two adorable baby Flying Opossums have just made their debut, showcasing their tiny light grey bodies and enchanting dark eyes. These furry bundles are only a few weeks old but already stealing hearts with their cuteness. In this image, we witness the incredible bond between mother and child as one of the babies clings onto its mother's back. The Flying Opossum, similar to a kangaroo, carries its young in a pouch and will continue to do so until they grow older. This unique marsupial can effortlessly glide from tree to tree using the membrane between its hind and forelimbs. The photograph transports us back to an era between the wars when people sought solace in nature's wonders amidst turbulent times. Its monochrome aesthetic adds a touch of nostalgia while emphasizing the details of these fascinating creatures. Taken by TopFoto. co. uk for Planet News, this image showcases not only the beauty of wildlife but also serves as a reminder of our responsibility towards preserving it for future generations. It is an exquisite example of press photography that captivates viewers even after decades have passed.
