EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the charming facade of the Denton Arms, a historic public house located in the picturesque village of Denton, Kent. The image, taken as of July 2018, presents a left-facing view of the pub, with its distinctive red brick exterior and ornate white trim. The name of the pub, "Denton Arms," is prominently displayed above the entrance, inviting passersby to step inside and enjoy a refreshing beverage. The Denton Arms holds a rich history, having been a beloved gathering place for the local community for many years. Although the exact origins of the pub are not documented, it is known that the building was once owned by the Charrington and Company Limited, a prominent brewery in the area. Despite its charming appearance, the Denton Arms is no longer in operation as a pub. As of July 2018, the building has been repurposed for residential use, marking the end of an era for this cherished community establishment. The back of the print includes the address of the pub, DA12 2QL, serving as a reminder of its former existence. This photograph offers a glimpse into the past, capturing the essence of a bygone era and the memories it holds for the residents of Denton.
