This engraving showcases the esteemed Rev. James Guthrie, Minister of Stirling, in 1661. The English School artist skillfully captures the essence of this influential figure from Scottish history. Reverend Guthrie's stern yet dignified expression reflects his unwavering commitment to his faith and his congregation. The print, part of a private collection, is believed to have been created in the 19th century for an edition of "The Scots Worthies" by Blackie in 1879.
