EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the iconic Maidenhead Bridge, a testament to the brilliance of engineering pioneer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Designed in 1895, this magnificent structure was specifically crafted to carry the Great Western Railway across the majestic Thames River. Its significance lies not only in its functional purpose but also in its architectural marvel. The photograph captures the timeless beauty of this historic bridge, with its elegant curves and sturdy brick arches gracefully spanning over the tranquil waters below. What sets it apart from other bridges is its claim to fame as having the flattest brick arch in the world – a remarkable feat achieved by Brunel's ingenuity and meticulous attention to detail.
