EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we are transported back to the year 1970 at the McLaren Factory in Colnbrook, England. The image captures four influential figures who played pivotal roles in shaping the success of McLaren's Formula One World Championship team. From left to right, we see Bruce McLaren, a legendary New Zealand driver and founder of the McLaren racing team. His determination and passion for motorsport were instrumental in establishing the team's strong foundation. Next to him stands Tyler Alexander, an American director whose expertise in engineering and technical aspects greatly contributed to McLaren's competitive edge on the track. His innovative ideas pushed boundaries within the sport. Teddy Mayer, another American director seen here, served as both a team owner and manager. With his astute business acumen and leadership skills, he guided McLaren through numerous triumphs during their early years. Completing this remarkable quartet is Phil Kerr from New Zealand. As one of the directors at McLaren during that time period, Kerr played an integral role behind-the-scenes by overseeing various operational aspects necessary for a successful racing outfit. This powerful portrait not only showcases these visionary individuals but also symbolizes unity and collaboration within a world-class racing organization. Their combined efforts laid down solid foundations that would propel McLaren towards becoming one of Formula One's most iconic teams ever known.
