EDITORS COMMENTS
In this nostalgic print from the 1990s, we see a heartwarming gesture of creativity and compassion. Students of fashion at Teesside College of Arts & Design have crafted an adorable rabbit costume, which they generously donate to the Big Ears Appeal (Cochlea Implant Appeal). The BTEC National Diploma students, Sam Taylor and Sara Noel, proudly stand on either side of their fellow student Michael Coates, who dons the rabbit costume with enthusiasm. Together, they present their creation to Roger Swainton of the Big Ears Appeal. This photograph captures not only the artistic talent and dedication of these young designers but also their commitment to making a difference in people's lives. The Big Ears Appeal aims to provide cochlear implants for those in need, enhancing their ability to hear and improving their quality of life. As we delve into this snapshot from history, it serves as a reminder that even seemingly small acts can have profound impacts on others. The combination of artistry and altruism showcased here is truly inspiring. It highlights how individuals within our community come together to support important causes such as healthcare and access to medical treatments. Ian McIntyre skillfully captures this momentous occasion through his lens, preserving it for future generations to appreciate both the craftsmanship behind the rabbit costume and its meaningful contribution towards bettering lives.
