EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the 28th of August, 1997, when the skies above Sutton Road in Hounslow were filled with a bustling symphony of aircraft. Illustrated by Alisdair Macdonald, this snapshot showcases the incredible number of flights passing over this vibrant neighborhood between 7:45 and 10 o'clock. In this nostalgic scene from the 90s, we are transported to a time where air traffic control was at its peak. The sky is adorned with planes of various shapes and sizes, gracefully soaring through the clouds. Amidst this aerial congestion stands a young boy on his bicycle, gazing up at the spectacle above him with awe and wonder. Accompanying our young adventurer is an equally curious dog who seems just as captivated by the flurry of activity overhead. Together they witness history being made in their own backyard – a testament to how aviation has become an integral part of our daily lives. This image not only captures a moment frozen in time but also evokes memories of childhood innocence and fascination. It serves as a reminder that even amidst technological advancements and ever-increasing air travel, there will always be room for imagination and exploration. Alisdair Macdonald's artwork transports us back to an era where dreams took flight alongside those magnificent airplanes traversing Heathrow's flight path.
