Lights, camera... but very little action. That was the scene as a camera crew filmed " Keeping up Appearances", a pilot TV comedy, at a Coventry house. Filming took place at the home of Tony and Rose Healey in Heather Road, Binley Woods. The bungalow was chosen in a nationwide search as the " perfect" home for the shows main character, Hyacinth Bucket played by Patricia Routledge. Director Harold Snoad explained: " Shes a pernickity-sort of woman who wants everything to be just right. There are several scenes when she is talking to her neighbours. This house is ideal." Actress Patricia Routledge stands under an umbrella with Rose Healey.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Lights, camera. . . but very little action. That was the scene as a camera crew filmed 'Keeping up Appearances', a pilot TV comedy, at a Coventry house. Filming took place at the home of Tony and Rose Healey in Heather Road, Binley Woods. The bungalow was chosen in a nationwide search as the 'perfect' home for the show's main character, Hyacinth Bucket played by Patricia Routledge. Director Harold Snoad explained: 'She's a pernickety-sort of woman who wants everything to be just right. There are several scenes when she is talking to her neighbors. This house is ideal. ' Despite the excitement surrounding the production, it seems that Mother Nature had other plans that day. As rain poured down from above, actress Patricia Routledge sought shelter under an umbrella alongside Rose Healey. The weather may have dampened their spirits momentarily, but it couldn't overshadow their dedication to bringing this hilarious sitcom to life. With cameras rolling and umbrellas held high, they persevered through every raindrop to capture those comedic moments that would soon grace television screens across the nation. This snapshot captures not only a behind-the-scenes moment of filming but also showcases the determination and resilience of everyone involved in creating quality entertainment despite unexpected challenges.
