Plate 175" of Marcus Elieser Bloch's "Naturgeschichte der ausländischen Fische: mit sechs und dreissig Ausgemalten Kupfern nach Originalen" (Natural History of Foreign Fish: With Sixteen and Thirty Copperplates after Originals, 1785-95) features an exquisitely detailed illustration of the Sea-Pea-Cock, also known as the Dolphinfish or the Mahi-Mahi (Coryphaena plumieri). This magnificent bony fish belongs to the family Coryphaenidae, order Perciformes, and class Actinopterygii.
