EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "Officine Ferroviarie Meridionali-Manufactured Fokker FVIIb-3ms: A Piece of Aviation History 2.. This photograph showcases two Officine Ferroviarie Meridionali (OFM)-manufactured Fokker FVIIb-3ms (designated Ro10), I-aXZ and I-aXY, of Avio Linee Italiane. These aircraft, produced by the Italian railway engineering company OFM, are fine examples of the Fokker FVIIb-3ms tri-motor transport planes. The Fokker FVIIb-3ms, also known as Ro10, was a versatile and advanced aircraft for its time, designed by the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. It was a trimotor, cantilever monoplane with a wooden fuselage and a fabric-covered wingspan. The aircraft could accommodate up to 12 passengers and had a maximum speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). OFM, with its extensive experience in railway engineering, began manufacturing aircraft in the late 1920s. The company produced several Fokker FVIIb-3ms for Avio Linee Italiane, which was an Italian airline that operated domestic and international flights. The aircraft in this photograph, I-aXZ and I-aXY, are adorned with the Avio Linee Italiane livery and are seen here on the tarmac, likely undergoing maintenance or preparation for a flight. The intricate details of the aircraft, from the engine nacelles to the wings and landing gear, are evident in this stunning image. This photograph is a testament to the rich history of aviation and the remarkable engineering achievements of the past. The Fokker FVIIb-3ms, manufactured by Officine Ferroviarie Meridionali, played a significant role in the development of Italian aviation and continue to be cherished as valuable pieces of history.
