Letter from Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex, to William Cecil, 1st July 1596. Letter written from the port of Cadiz (which Essex refers to as Cales ), to William Cecil, Lord Burghley, Lord High Treasurer, on Essexs capture of Cadiz and destruction of the Spanish feet (21, 22nd June) and praying Burghley to plead for him until his return, lest he should be brought into the Queens displeasure.
