In this print captured by Gianluigi Guercia from Agence France-Presse (AFP), we witness Danish engineer Svend Gjerding fearlessly walking along the passage under the majestic Victoria Falls Bridge in Livingstone, Zambia. The image was taken on April 14,2005, as a team of dedicated Danish engineers diligently monitored and assessed the bridge's conservation status. The Victoria Falls Bridge stands tall as a symbol of connection between two nations, Zambia and Zimbabwe. As Gjerding confidently strides across the border line separating these countries, he epitomizes the spirit of international collaboration and cooperation in preserving this engineering marvel. With its breathtaking view of one of nature's wonders - the magnificent Victoria Falls - serving as an awe-inspiring backdrop, this photograph encapsulates both man-made ingenuity and natural beauty. The bridge itself is not only a vital transportation link but also a testament to human innovation. Guerdia's lens perfectly captures Gjerding's determination and dedication towards ensuring that this iconic structure remains safe for future generations to admire. It serves as a reminder that behind every architectural masterpiece lies countless hours of meticulous inspection and maintenance.
