Poster produced for London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to London. The poster shows the magnficent pageantry which marks the opening of Parliament. The arms of the City of London can be discerned on the elaborate livery worn by the horses. Artwork by Christopher Clark, who designed posters for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) and London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) and also painted military and historical subjects. Many of his designs were re-issued by British Railways (BR)
