EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures the historic Green Man pub, located in the heart of London's Marylebone neighborhood. The image, taken in the 1930s, shows the corner facade of the pub, adorned with ornate brickwork and the distinctive Green Man sign. The Green Man, which dates back to at least 1934, was once situated at Union Mews, now known as Bourlet Close, and was addressed as 36 Ridinghouse Street. At the time of this photograph, the pub was owned by Hoare and Company Limited, a well-known name in the public house industry. By 1939, the pub was under the management of Mitchells & Butlers, a leading UK hospitality and retail company. The back of the print reveals the pub's trading record, providing a fascinating glimpse into its history. The Green Man continues to be a beloved local watering hole, offering a rich blend of history and tradition to its patrons.
