Swordfish over Blackpool EAW212942
A Fairey Swordfish Mk.II flying over Blackpool in 1971. This type of torpedo bomber was used by the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy during World War 2. It was used successfully at the Battle of Taranto in 1940 and in attacks that crippled the German battleship Bismarck in 1941, as well as during anti-submarine operations throughout the war.
