Sir John Alexander Hammerton was a renowned artist and creator of various captivating illustrations that depicted significant moments in history. One of his notable works includes a portrayal of the 8th Army commander, Bernard Law Montgomery, in 1942. With his artistic skills, Hammerton captured the essence and strength of this influential figure. In another piece, he immortalized the bravery and determination of hooded British Territorials as they fearlessly charged towards German trenches at Loos on September 25th, 1915.
