With their triangular shape, these sharks hold potential danger for those who encounter them along the East Coast of Australia. Also known as Ragged-tooth or Sand Tiger Sharks, this species goes by various scientific names including Eugomphodus taurus/arenarius or Odontaspis taurus/arenarius. Their distribution spans across the Western and Eastern Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Western Pacific, Mediterranean, and even the Black Sea. There is some disagreement over classification due to similarities with other shark species such as Sand Sharks.
