"Newsprint: A Journey Through Time and Ink" Typesetting by hand, a meticulous craft that brought words to life on the pages of the Morning Post newspaper in London. The smell of fresh ink mingling with the hustle and bustle of Fleet Street, where delivery trucks unloaded bundles of newsprint. In c. 1942, amidst the chaos of war, an artist found solace in meditation as they delicately painted gouache on newsprint laid upon a board. Their brushstrokes captured moments of tranquility amid turmoil. During WW1, a powerful cartoon titled "The Censor at Work" depicted the struggles faced by journalists striving for truth amidst censorship. Newsprint became both weapon and shield against propaganda. Gaston Doumergue's stern gaze immortalized through Le Monde Illustre's b/w photo on June 21st, 1914 - forever etched onto fragile newsprint - capturing a moment before history took its course. Southland Paper mill in Lufkin, Texas churned out rolls using Kraft pulp in 1943. The machinery hummed tirelessly as paper transformed into vessels for information and stories. Traveling back to March 5th, 1770 - litho prints recounting the horrid Boston Massacre adorned brittle sheets of newsprint. They served as eyewitness accounts etching history onto their delicate fibers. March 16th, 1885 saw Huckleberry Finn banned in Concord, Massachusetts; an article from the Boston Daily Globe chronicled this controversial decision on faded newsprint pages that still held echoes of dissent. A litho print from c. 1854 showcased Boston's fight against slavery with fiery determination splashed across layers upon layers of aged newsprint – each stroke echoing cries for freedom within courtrooms' walls. On February 2nd, 1898 The New York World graced front pages with bold headlines that stirred hearts and minds.
