Leon Trotsky, a prominent figure in the Russian Revolution and one of its key leaders, was known for his unwavering commitment to the cause. In 1918, a powerful poster depicted Trotsky slaying the counter-revolutionary dragon, symbolizing his determination to eliminate any opposition to the revolution. That same year, he played a crucial role in establishing the Workers and Peasants Red Army by administering the Oath of Allegiance. The artist Dmitri Stachievich Moor captured this significant moment in history. As Peoples Commissar of War, Trotsky reviewed Red Army troops in Moscow during 1918. This image showcases his leadership and dedication towards building a strong military force that would defend and uphold socialist ideals. In 1920, Lenin addressed Red Army soldiers who were being sent to fight on the Western Front during The Russian Civil War. This event highlighted Trotsky's influence as an influential member of Lenin's government. In 1930, a poster advertising Leon Trotsky's autobiography "My Life" emphasized his personal journey within revolutionary politics. Even through exile and expulsion from the Communist Party in December 1927, Trotsky remained steadfast in his beliefs. During his time abroad, he arrived in Paris around 1933 as an exiled Russian Communist leader seeking refuge from political persecution back home. Despite these challenges, he continued to engage with international affairs; German officers welcomed him and other Russian delegates at Brest-Litovsk in Russia during 1917. Throughout all these events and more documented by Okhrana records dating back to 1883-1917 when he was still young or after being expelled from the party until later years like when Vasili Svarog portrayed him alongside other figures on "The Staff of October Revolution" (1934), it is evident that Leon Trotsky left an indelible mark on history through his unwavering commitment to socialism and revolutionary principles.
