"Remembering Henry IV of France: A Tragic Tale of Assassination and Legacy" In 1553, a remarkable figure was born who would later become known as Henry IV of France. His reign, however, was cut short by a tragic event that shook the nation in 1610 - his assassination. This engraving from 1897 captures the somber moment when King Henry IV met his untimely demise.
