Throughout history, colonial wars have shaped the map of the world as we know it. This collection of artworks depicts pivotal moments from the late 18th to late 19th centuries, including the Soudan Campaign of 1884-5 as depicted in 'Leaders of Soudan Campaign' and 'Heroes of the Soudan'. The surrender of the two sons of Tipu Sahib, Sultan of Mysore, to Sir David Baird in 1799 is shown in both an oil painting and a lithograph. Tipu Sahib's defeat marked the end of the Third Anglo-Mysore War. In 'The Surrender of the Two Sons of Tippoo Sultaun', the sons are seen surrendering during the siege of Seringapatam.
