Guido Reni's "David with the Head of Goliath" (1627-28) showcases a young man standing confidently, his long brown hair loose down his back, as he gazes upon the severed head of his defeated foe. With one hand wrapped around the column for support and the other holding Goliath's lifeless head, David exudes an air of contemplation and satisfaction. His bare feet are crossed at the ankles, while a fur-lined hat lies discarded at his side.
