This print takes us back to the nostalgic era of 1960, capturing a picturesque view of St Agnes Station in Cornwall. The image showcases the charming signal box and shed that were integral parts of this bustling railway station. St Agnes Station, which opened its doors in July 1903 on the Truro and Newquay Railway, served as a vital transportation hub for locals and visitors alike. However, it sadly closed its operations in 1963, leaving behind memories etched into the hearts of those who frequented it. During its heyday in the 1950s and early 1960s, St Agnes Station played host to numerous Camping Coaches. These quaint accommodations provided an enchanting experience for adventurous souls seeking solace amidst Cornwall's natural beauty. The photograph beautifully captures the essence of this bygone era - a time when steam trains chugged along these tracks with their rhythmic clatter and billowing smoke.
