Feodor Machnow ( June 6, 1878 - August 28, 1912 ) the Russian Giant grew to a stature of 7 feet 10 inches and a weight of 365 pounds. He toured Europe and spent time in Berlin (Passage Panopticum), Paris and the Netherlands. In 1905 he arrived in London and joined the Hippodrome. He then toured the United States in 1906 where he met President Roosevelt and the Cardiff Giant George Auger. His promoters exaggerated his height, and he is usually accredited with a stature of 9 feet 3 inches and billed as "The Russian Giant." This exaggeration may have been because he wore a huge Cossack fur hat, and tall boots which added a foot to his height. It is believed that Feodor Machnow died in 1912 due to pneumonia, and likely complications of Acromegaly. © New York Public Library / Science Source

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
