Creation of Adam. This fresco artwork (pigment applied to wet plaster) was painted onto the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City, Rome, Italy, sometime between 1508 and 1512. It depicts the moment that God (right) gives the newly created Adam (left) his human soul via their touching fingertips. It is thought that God has his right arm around Eve and his right hand touching the Christ Child. The artist was Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564), a Renaissance sculptor, architect, painter and poet. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
