The match took place at Fir Park, Motherwell, and marked a significant turning point in the season for both teams. The game began with Rangers dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities. By halftime, they had already taken a commanding 7-0 lead, leaving Motherwell struggling to keep up. In the second half, the onslaught continued, with Rangers adding another seven goals to their tally, leaving Motherwell's defense in disarray. The Rangers team that day was a formidable force, with Shota Arveladze and Henning Berg leading the charge.
