EDITORS COMMENTS
Who needs a fishing rod when you've got a beak like this? The Bar-tailed Godwit shows off its impressive foraging skills as it hunts for tidal-flat worms in Norfolk. This print captures the incredible moment of nature's own 'fishing expedition' in action. With its long, slender bill and keen eyesight, this wader bird knows just where to find its next meal. It gracefully navigates the muddy saltmarshes, probing the soft ground with precision. Watch out worms, dinner is served! Norfolk's coastal beauty provides the perfect backdrop for this avian spectacle. As January unfolds, these elegant creatures flock to the reserve, creating an enchanting scene that showcases both their feeding behavior and their resilience against harsh winter conditions. The photographer David Tipling has masterfully captured this sequence of events – a true testament to his talent and dedication to wildlife photography. Through his lens, we are transported into a world where birds become acrobats and every worm becomes a prize worth fighting for. So sit back, relax, and let yourself be mesmerized by nature's wonders.
