RAF Royal Air Force) cup final in Tripoli - earlier games played between desert battles.
A football cup final - the final of the FAR Western Desert Football League was played at the Tripoli Stadium. The teams represented a RAF Communications flight and a RAF fighter wing which had taken part in the advance from El Alemain. The communication flight team won.
Picture shows the captain of the winning team holding the cup cheered on my his team mates. Air Vice Marshal H Broadhurst DSO, DFC, AFO presented the cup and medals to the winners.
