In a bombed eighteenth century fort, constructed by Grand Master Manuel de Vilhena as a defence against the Turks, is Maltas Special Training School.
Against this background of baroque ruins
normal infantrymen are given commando training with the view to using them in future assault operations.
The school is run by four officers who have served with the Middle East special service units.
The course is for officers, senior N.C.O.s and men.
