The girls were crowned by retiring queen Kerry Stead, helped by Richard Thorp (who plays Alan Turner in Emmerdale) and Miss Examiner, Maureen Wigton. The girls - who will represent the hospice at various functions throughout the year - arrived at the gala in a horse drawn carriage. 8th September 1990
