EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to the 1980s, a time when music and charity intertwined in an extraordinary way. The image captures the iconic Midge Ure standing proudly in front of a group of runners, their arms raised high as they prepare to embark on a race for a noble cause. This snapshot represents more than just a moment frozen in time; it symbolizes the power of unity and compassion that defined an entire generation. As one of the driving forces behind Band Aid's historic "Do They Know It's Christmas?" single, Midge Ure became not only an entertainment icon but also a beacon of hope for Africa during its time of need. With his unmistakable presence and undeniable talent, Ure used his platform to inspire change and rally support for those less fortunate. This photograph serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment towards making the world a better place through music. As we gaze upon this remarkable piece, we are reminded that true greatness lies not only in artistic achievements but also in acts of selflessness and generosity. Midge Ure's involvement with Run the World Charity for Africa encapsulates this sentiment perfectly - using his fame to bring attention to important causes while encouraging others to join him on this journey towards global harmony. Let us cherish this incredible memento from history, celebrating both the musical genius that is Midge Ure and the enduring spirit of humanity he so beautifully embodied.
