Pop Grows the Weasel: William the weasel, was two days old

Pop Grows the Weasel: William the weasel, was two days old, blind and furless when brothers Anthony and Steven Marshall found him in a puddle near their home in Long Eaton, near Nottingham. So they took him home, let him cuddle up to their collie Patch for heat and nursed him back to health. " I had to get up every two hours to feed him diluted milk through an eye drop, " said ther boys mother Betty, 39. Soon William regained his strength, eating raw meat fand drinking his milk straight. On October 30 he was three weeks old, three-and-a-half inches long and set to move to a nature centre later in the week. October 1977 P006477

Pop Grows the Weasel - A Heartwarming Tale of Compassion and Care

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photo print, we are transported back to October 1977, where a remarkable story unfolds. Meet William the weasel, a tiny creature who found himself in dire straits at just two days old. Abandoned and defenseless, he was discovered by brothers Anthony and Steven Marshall near their home in Long Eaton, Nottingham. Driven by empathy and kindness beyond their years, the boys wasted no time in bringing William into their lives. With unwavering determination, they nurtured him back to health with the help of their loyal collie Patch. Their mother Betty became an integral part of this rescue mission as well - waking up every two hours to feed William diluted milk through an eye dropper. As days turned into weeks, William's strength grew exponentially. He transitioned from fragile dependence on his caretakers to eating raw meat and drinking milk straight from a dish. By October 30th, he had reached three weeks old and measured three-and-a-half inches long – a testament to his resilience. This heartwarming tale reminds us that even the smallest creatures deserve love and care. The photograph captures not only the adorable sight of young William but also serves as a timeless reminder of compassion triumphing over adversity. Soon after this snapshot was taken, William would embark on another chapter of his journey – finding solace at a nature center where he could thrive among fellow wildlife companions. This image is
