Framed Print of Elizabeth Taylor attends the premiere of The Lady with the Lamp

Elizabeth Taylor attends the premiere of The Lady with the Lamp at the Warner Theatre in London.
22nd September 1951.
Elizabeth Taylor in her prime was without doubt one of the worlds most beautiful and glamorous women. She still is one of the richest, most married, most famous and sadly most tragic figures of the twentieth century. As an actress what she lacked in skill she made up for in presence and passion. Indeed, more than made up for as she won two Best Actress Oscars. Her eight marriages, including two to Richard Burton were all public affairs. The scandal and intrigue was played out in the divorce courts, if not the press. The one exception being her 1957 marriage to Mike Todd as he was tragically killed in a plane crash only a year after they announced their engagement. Her marriages to Richard Burton were subjected to the most public scrutiny largely because the pair played their relationship out on the silver screen in movies such as Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'. The actress went on to launch her own range of cosmetics, a move that has earned her millions of dollars. Her later years have been plagued with illness, including a massive brain tumor and Taylor has become something of a recluse on her massive mansion estate. © Mirrorpix
