Bren Carrier plunge into stream.
One soldier killed. Three injured.
Private A Fennel of the 12th Devons was killed a Bren (a Gun). Carrier in which he was travelling with four other soldiers struck the parapet of a bridge on Countess Hill, Amesbury, Wiltshire. IT fell into a foot deep stream thieve feet below and turned over on the men. Three of the other soldiers were seriously hurt. One of them jumped from the vehicle when it struck the parapet and was found unconscious on the road. The fifth man suffered shock.
