Framed Print of Nothing more than five tonnes can cross the narrow, windswept bridge which is the only
Nothing more than five tonnes can cross the narrow, windswept bridge which is the only road link between Hayling Island and the mainland, so every day the conductor looks for volunteers to walk it. Sometimes the conductor spins a penny to decide who gets off, sometimes there are volunteers. Sometimes there are arguments. The bridge has been declared unsafe by its owners, British Railways. 5th April 1954. © Mirrorpix
