Framed Print of Frederick Davies, 76, is King of the Darby and Joan Club in the Regents Park, London area

Frederick Davies, 76, is King of the Darby and Joan Club in the Regents Park, London area. At a Convent of A.C.I (Handmaids of the Sacred Heart) in Avenue Road, St Johns Wood, the sisters of the Order organised a keep in touch club'. Every fortnight about 40 or more old folk go and play bingo, have a chat, and have tea. There is only one Darby, and 40 Joans at this club. The odd man is Fred, admired by all the ladies from the age of 62 to 91. 12th March 1970. © Mirrorpix
