The serene scene showcases the picturesque River Cleddau as it winds its way through the lush, green valley, surrounded by rolling hills and verdant grasslands. At the heart of this idyllic setting lies the historic village of Nant Y Coy, nestled amidst the landscape. The name Nant Y Coy translates to 'Valley of the Cows' in Welsh, reflecting the area's rich agricultural heritage. This image, taken before the construction of the Great Western Railway line, offers a glimpse into a bygone era. The peace and quiet of the countryside are palpable, with not a hint of the industrial revolution that was soon to transform the landscape.
