Prince Waldemar (1889-1945) and Prince Sigismund (1896-1978; on the right) of Prussia in full naval uniform. The boys were the two elder sons of Prince Heinrich (Henry) of Prussia and Princess Irene of Hesse. Their father entered the developing German Navy rather than the army, and his sons seem to have followed his example. However, Waldemar, a haemophiliac, would have been unable to take part in any active service. Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
