EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time to the vibrant and bustling Place du Tertre in Paris during the 1960s. This photograph showcases the lively atmosphere of this historic square, located at the foot of the Montmartre hill. The scene is filled with Parisians and tourists alike, all gathered around tables on the pavement, enjoying a meal or a drink at one of the many cafes and restaurants that line the square. The sound of clinking glasses and lively conversation fills the air as people engage in animated discussions, some with animated hand gestures to emphasize their points. In the background, the iconic dome of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica stands tall, a symbol of Parisian history and culture. The trees that surround the square provide a picturesque backdrop, their leaves a brilliant green in this era before the autumnal colors of fall set in. The Place du Tertre has long been a favorite destination for artists, and it's easy to see why. The lively energy and diverse crowd make for endless people-watching opportunities, and the delicious food and drink only add to the experience. This photograph captures a moment in time when Paris was at its most vibrant and alive, a time when the city truly came to life on the pavement cafes and bustling squares like the Place du Tertre.
