Framed Print of GLC-LFB - Dual purpose pump fire engine

The GLC-LFB was created on 1 April 1965. A series of photos was commissioned of each type of fire engine, either within or absorbed into the enlarged London Fire Brigade. The pump from Clerkenwell fire station (C27) seen here is a Dennis manual appliance. It is silver rather than the usual LFB red. With so many fire brigades being absorbed into the enlarged LFB, engines such as this one took some getting used to. Mary Evans Picture Library makes available wonderful images created for people to enjoy over the centuries. © London Fire Brigade / Mary Evans Picture Library
