Princess Cecilie of Greece (1911-1937), known as Cecile, wife of Prince Georg Donatus of Hesse and by Rhine, and sister of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, pictured with her children, Prince Ludwig (1931-37), Prince Alexander (1933-1937) and the baby, Princess Johanna (1936-39). Tragically, Cecile, her husband and two sons were killed in a plane crash on the way to a family wedding in London and Johanna, who was adopted by her uncle and aunt, died of meningitis at the age of three.
