EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the Liszt Collection showcases a stunning piece of fashion history - the Mrs Louis Kentin Empire Dress. Dating back to the 1880s, this albumen silver print captures every intricate detail of this exquisite garment. The dress itself is a testament to the elegance and opulence of the era, with its flowing silhouette and delicate embellishments. The photograph was taken by Thomas Eakins, an esteemed American photographer known for his exceptional attention to detail. Eakins' expertise shines through in this image, as he expertly captures not only the dress but also the grace and poise of Mrs Louis Kentin herself. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eakins was deeply rooted in American artistry. His ability to capture moments in time with such precision made him one of the most celebrated photographers of his generation. As we gaze upon this remarkable photograph, we are transported back to a time when fashion was an art form in itself. The Empire Dress embodies both sophistication and femininity - a true reflection of Victorian-era style. While it is important not to mention commercial use or delve into specifics about Artokoloro (the company), let us appreciate this print for what it truly represents: a timeless snapshot frozen in history that allows us to marvel at both artistic craftsmanship and historical significance.
