EDITORS COMMENTS
Who needs a diving board when you have a stump? This Long-tailed Cormorant is taking its water antics to new heights in Gambia! Standing tall and proud on its makeshift perch, this young bird is ready to make a splash. With the sun shining down on its sleek feathers, it's clear that this cormorant knows how to strike a pose. February in West Africa brings out the playful side of these tropical juveniles. From their vibrant blue eyes to their fluffy plumage, they are an absolute delight to behold. The waters of Gambia provide the perfect playground for these energetic creatures, as they navigate through reeds and explore freshwater wetlands. This photo captures the essence of African wildlife at its finest - untamed, curious, and full of life. It serves as a reminder that nature always finds joy in even the simplest things. So next time you're feeling adventurous, take inspiration from this long-tailed daredevil and find your own unique way to make waves! Kudos to FLPA/Bill Coster for freezing this moment in time forever. Their incredible skill behind the lens allows us all to appreciate the beauty and humor found within our natural world.
